Efficient farming may help to survive high feed costs
As feed costs will probably not decrease over the next few months, production efficiencies will become even more important. It also seems that government spending on agriculture will be slow for the coming year. We must re-engineer the way we think and operate, we must find innovative ways to achieve the appropriate outcome. In the uncertain world we live we need to focus on the outcome and enjoy the journey. We need to keep on doing the right things, which might not be popular but visionary. As an industry we need to be the leaders in biosecurity, animal welfare and cost effective sustainable production systems. Johann Kotzé, SAPPO CEO
